About... Me?
(Little random info here... If you hadn't guessed, my favorite color is blue! Now back to business...)
As you can no doubt tell from having read my resume, I'm someone with a wide variety of skill-sets. I cannot be easily classified or categorized or stuffed into a neat little box for that matter. One question that I often get at interviews is, "Do you consider yourself more of a web designer or web developer?" A difficult question to answer each and every time, because the simple fact of the matter is that it depends on my mood...
There are times when I feel like dealing with the subjective and any feedback that might come of such -- at such times I am most definitely in a web designer mind set. Yet at other times I want to focus on what can be logically derived, broken down into a series of steps, and therefore objectified as a means to an end -- at such times I am most assuredly in a web developer mind set. That being said, on most days I am in the mood to blend the two sides of my professional personality to create products that are equal parts subjective and equal parts objective. Hence, my slogan,"blending web design and development since 1998"!
Over the years, I have developed my own principles when it comes to doing my job. The largest of which is to push the design and programming fields to exceed -- not just meet -- the expectations of my employers, co-workers, and clients. This means many hours spent in my office reading, tinkering, and pushing my gray matter to the limit, but it enables me to better grasp emerging trends, grow as a professional, and produce cutting-edge innovative products.
