One question that I often get at interviews is, "Do you consider yourself more of a web designer or web developer?" A difficult question to answer each and every time, because the simple fact of the matter is that it depends the skill-set I need to complete a task, and -- to a lesser degree -- the time of day, wind direction, and what phase the moon is currently in... I'm more of a hybrid between a developer and designer, and I'm more than comfortable operating on both the front- and back-end of projects for the web.
yep. it's what i've been doing since 1995. being able to marry graphics and programming is something that's very important to me on many levels. simply put, i enjoy the power of being able to program on the back-end one minute -- see something that i don't like -- and then flipping a switch to plug away on the front-end via html, css, or javascript... limitless possibilities.
With that said, a little forewarning: I'm in the midst of redesigning my site, so there's more on the way. I simply wanted to get the new design in place, because I'm on the job market! So, check back for updates often. I will soon be adding more to my portfolio, to include:
I shall also begin writing a blog on a range of subjects -- from web development/design to hot topics in the news.
